Online Safety – Recent Updates

The government has announced a package of measures to help keep children safe online. These include: a UKCCIS guide to help parents keep their children safer online, content for social media and interactive service providers, updated content for parents/carers on CEOP’s Thinkuknow website and new industry-led initiatives to help children become safer online.

The Department for Education has also announced that it will be consulting on a update for the Keeping Children Safe in Education document regarding measures to keep children safe online at home and at school. This will include ensuring schools have appropriate filters and monitoring in place to prevent children from accessing harmful content via the school’s IT systems and to help ensure that online safety concerns are spotted quickly. The consultation fr the updates to Keeping Children Safe in Education closes on 16th February 2016.
