The Uk Safer Internet Centre are pleased to announce that the theme for Safer Internet Day 2016 will be ‘Play your part for a better internet’.
Safer Internet Day will take place on the 9th February 2016 and is coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre (made up of Childnet, SWGfL and IWF) and the event sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
The theme for Safer Internet Day 2016 seeks to highlight the role that we must all play in helping to create a better internet together and will be celebrated globally, coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network.
Safer Internet Day (SID) offers the opportunity for us all to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role that we can play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together in helping to create a better internet.
Make sure you book the 9th February 2016 into your diaries and calendars and start planning your events and celebrations soon! More information including links to Safer Internet Day events and resources will be published on the blog when available.
